Brent was one of my favorite teachers in high school. I always walked out of having learned something. I felt he was a man who demanded respect but was also willing to give respect back. I loved his comical side and his sense of humor. I felt that he reached out to the youth and young adults to try and teach them a lesson about life and what life is really about. I was in his class when the Oklahoma City bombing took place in 1995 and I remember the concern that he had for everyone and wanted...

Checketts Family,
We were sadened to hear of Brents passing. Please accept our condolences. It has been a long time since we have seen Brent, but we will always remember the impact he had on our lives. He was more than a teacher to us, he was a friend. We knew him when he was a young father with Allison & Joseph. We wish all of his family the very best!

Sherri,
I'm very sorry for Brents passing. Although I do not know you, I have special memories of Brent as a coach and a teacher. I remember Brent coming to my home and helping me with my pitching. He was a friend to my parents and many. He was a great influence on my life. He will be missed.

I had Mr. Checketts for AP History.( woods cross ) He was the best and most influential teacher I had throughout my entire education. He talked me into throwing a chicken into another teacher's classroom. It is one of my fondest memories. I was saddened to hear of his passing. I now love history. I have thought of him often through my life. I wish I would have sent him a note to let him know how he influenced me.

Sherri,
I am so sorry to hear about Brent. We all loved him so much. He brightened our every day. There are so many fond memories of Brent. He defintely left foot prints in our hearts. His funny little jokes will make us laugh forever. I can't believe he's gone.
He was so happy since he met you, you completed him. He would just beam when he talked to you. He would set in the office next to my desk and call you just to say, "I Love You, and Miss You".
It was so...
