Brian Gregory Obituary

Brian D. Gregory
Brian David Gregory passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024 after a long illness.
Born February 26, 1957 in Danbury, CT, he was student body president of Danbury High School for the class of 1975. He earned a bachelors of science degree from Fairfield University in 1979, and a juris doctorate from George Washington University in 1988.
Later in life, Brian returned to school, earning a Masters in Counseling from Western Connecticut State University. He spent the first half of his career practicing law and the last half working in social services.
A longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Brian was passionate about helping others through their sobriety journeys. Always quick with a joke, Brian could be counted on to be the funniest in the room. Somehow he was able to find a facial expression to bring hilarity to any situation. His dry wit and characteristically raised eyebrow were hallmarks of his effervescent personality.
Brian will be remembered for his wonderful laughter, his awesome dance moves, his uncanny ability to mimic anything, and his ridiculous coffee order-4 cream 4 sugars.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (Smith) Gregory.
He is survived by his daughter, Elise Gregory; his father, Peter Gregory; and his brother, Michael Gregory.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Parkinson's Foundation, Suite 800, 200 SE 1St Street, Miami, FL 33131 or Alcoholics Anonymous, POB 2407, NY, NY 10116

I spent 10 years in Catholic School, and remember vividly my first few minutes on the campus of DHS as an incoming Junior (in 1974). The Grateful Dead was playing over the P.A. System, and The Senior Class President came up, enthusiastically pumped my hand in greeting, and asked how I liked "his choice" of music. It was like nothing I had ever experienced in my 16 years, and knew life was about to change ! Have not seen Brian since I left town, many years ago, but never I forgot him, and the joy of living, he seemed to possess, to the "nth" degree. Rest Easy, Mr. President.
