Surginer "BT"
1957-2017
Brian Thomas Surginer passed away on August 25 in Houston, Texas as a result of a motorcycle accident. He resided in Pearland, Texas. Brian is survived by his son Justin Surginer; daughter and son in law, Angela and Danilo Alvarado; three grandchildren; brother and sister in law Michael and Sally Surginer; as well as a niece and a nephew.
Brian was born in Houston, Texas to Robert Jackson and Mary Catherine Surginer, also deceased. He graduated from SHSU in 1979 and joined HPD. He retired from the police department in January 2016.
There will be a visitation at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2 pm – 5 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church located in Houston, Texas on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

Brian you were such a great El Presidente and friend. I hold the memories I have of all of the meetings and rides very dearly. You were exceptional in all that you did. You made me laugh and smile. BT. I'm so glad I had the pleasure of meeting you through my husband- Donleo. You always welcomed me and Leo with a great smile a hug and huge kiss on the cheek. My thoughts prayers are with your family, BT. I had the privilege of working with BT during my years in the Vice Division at HPD. BT was a good, honest man and a great officer. His presence was second to none and he will be missed, but not forgotten. May God bless him and welcome him home.

To Brian's Family: Brian and I were in the Academy together; Class #87, back in '79. We were in a study group that met on Sundays. Brian was a great guy, with a good sense of humor. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My regret is that we lost touch over the years. So glad to have watched the beautiful video of Brian's life. What a beautiful family!
