Bruce Johnson Obituary

A beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Bruce Conaway Johnson, 91 years old, passed away on December 13, 2015. He was born in Dew, Texas to Johnny and Sally Johnson on October 3, 1924.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marty Johnson, and 7 brothers and 1 sister.

Bruce is survived by his children, Mary Allen (spouse Sonny), Pamela McDaniel, and Michael Johnson (spouse Roxie), grandchildren Terry Allen, Niky King (wife Amy), Lany Allen, and Christopher Johnson (wife Brooke); two great grandchildren, Caitlin and Caden King, and was looking forward to greeting Conway Bruce (Little Man) in January, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

Bruce served in the US Army during WWII and received a Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge. Bruce and Marty Johnson joined Central Baptist Church in Pasadena in 1954, and moved to Conroe in 1995. Bruce retired from the Texas Highway Dept. after over 30 years. He loved working in the garden and was an avid gardener at the Conroe Friendship Gardens for many years.

The visitation will be held Monday, December 21, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the Funeral Service to start at 12:00 pm at Grand view Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.

Pallbearers will be Lany Allen, Terry Allen, Chris Johnson, Niky King, Duane Meyer and Danny shelby.
