I met Vern Wartman when he was supervising a fence building job my brother and I did in the subdivision near his home. Vern drove up one day in his red Chevy and started laughing at me. He had his hand on his brow and couldnt stop laughing. He said "I will sell this truck to your brother so you can haul pickets in a real work truck, not a BMW with boards sticking out the sunroof and windows! Girl, you need a truck!" Vern and I became friends many years ago in our work related jobs. He poked fun at me from being from the South and I retaliated. Vern was a good man and will be missed.

I was ok until I saw Uncle Everne's picture. I hope you all are doing the best you can. I am sad to think that I will never see him again, but I am happy in the knowledge that he is no longer suffering and is in a better place.
