Calvin August (Tyke) Hanson passed away on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at home after a courageous battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Born August 17, 1940 in Monroe, Wash. to parents Everett and Evelyn Hanson. He graduated from Sultan High School in June 1959. He worked at Boeing in Quality Assurance for 13 years and taught welding at Renton Technical College. He was survived by his wife Clara Jean Boeser Hanson, whom he met in his hometown. They married in March of 1962. He was the proud father of three girls Kimberly Dirks (Eric) of Prosser, Wash., Michelle Llarenas (Jerry) of Bellevue, Wash., Lisa Hanson (Kenny) of Snoqualmie, Wash. Survived by grandchildren Kaitlin Dirks, Jakob Llarenas, Alex Llarenas and Sophia Llarenas. Also survived by his sister Essie Jackson. His sister in-law Vyonne Stanik (Joe) and Martha Aney (Larry). Along with numerous nieces and nephews and sister in-laws and brother in-laws and loyal companion Newman. Tyke loved his family, children and grandchildren and his loving wife. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen and brother Raymond. Calvin was a veteran of the United States Army branch. He was the past president of Aerie 627 Monroe, Wash. Calvin enjoyed storytelling, watching his children and grandchildren play sports and gathering to play poker with his Sultan friends. The family is extremely grateful for the family, friends and neighbors who helped us through this journey. At Calvin's request there will be no service.
