Cameron Bagley Obituary

Cameron Michael Bagley, 20, of Columbia, entered into God's eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Columbia. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m., at the church. A private burial will take place at St. Clement Cemetery near Bowling Green.
Cameron was born on June 19, 1996, in Portland, Ore., to Tammy (Meyer) Bagley. Cameron attended Columbia Catholic School, West Junior High and was a 2015 graduate of Father Tolton High School. He was currently attending Moberly Area Community College.
Cameron's love of the sun, water and people led him to work as a lifeguard at West Broadway Swim Club for the past three years and he served as a head life guard this summer.
He was also currently employed at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in addition to working at Hy-Vee and Texas Roadhouse while in high school.
Cameron at a young age became involved in a variety of sports including swimming, baseball, cross country, and track and field.
However, his true love and passion was for the game of basketball. He started in Pee Wee Hoops and went on to play in local leagues such as Upward and Columbia Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) as well as playing on competitive teams.
He played on the varsity team all three years while at Tolton High School. It was through basketball that Cameron developed a tremendous bond with a group of young men who were not only his closest friends but were like brothers to him and a true blessing in his life.
From the moment Cameron was born, he had a laugh that was infectious and a smile that was unforgettable. He had a great sense for adventure and the ability to always make people laugh and he enjoyed doing so.
He could brighten a room the minute he walked in and his compassion for others and the ability to make them feel special was a gift. He touched so many lives in his short time here on earth that it is hard to imagine that shining light now being gone.
His spirit was gentle and his heart was so good and so kind. Cameron was a friend to many people and was the light and love of his mother's life as well as his entire family.
There are no words to express how much he will be missed but comfort lies in knowing he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is at peace in heaven in the arms of God the heavenly father.
In addition to his beloved mother, Tammy, he is survived by his grandparents, (Papa and Mamoo), Arthur and Delores Meyer, of Bowling Green; his uncles, aunts and cousins including, Jeff and Laura Meyer, of Bowling Green, and their children Kelsey and Brian Meyer, Daniel (Stacie) Finke, David (Kim) Finke, Julie (Clint) Bowen; Stephen and Teri (Meyer) Weise, of Columbia, and their children, Bret and Catelyn; Scott and Ellen Meyer, of Bowling Green, and their children, Emily and Evan; Curt and Christine Meyer of Troy, and their children, Clayton and Carley; Bruce and Stephanie Meyer, of Bowling Green, and their children, Halie and Kara; as well as many very special and deeply loved great aunts and uncles and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pascales Pals, 1511 Chapel Hill Road, Columbia, Mo 65203 or online at www.pascalepals.org; St. Clement Cemetery Association, 19692 Highway 161, Bowling Green, Mo 63334 or West Broadway Swim Club, c/o Tom Whelihan, 10 Longfellow, Columbia, Mo 65203.

Cameron helped me coach a Columbia Youth Basketball Association team several years back. He was exceptional with the kids. My only complaint was I could not get him to refer to me as anything other than Mr. Coonce. Today, I would give the world to hear him say that. However, I know that respect came from his mother and how you raised him. Some angels were meant to be on this earth for a shorter period of time than we'd like but please know his light shined bright because he was an exceptional person with an exceptional mother. God bless you both.

Never a dull moment with you Cameron. After all the years that I have had the pleasure of knowing you, you always managed to brighten everyone's day. It is now so clear to see how many people you have touched with your life. It all started with a crush but you became a confidant, a shoulder to lean on. You were a big brother and I will always remember you for all the good laughs we shared. When I remember you, I will think of all the times you teased me and think about how close we became in the the past five years. You are loved Cameron, by so many people and you will be missed dearly. I can't wait till we meet again. Fly high
