DURHAM - Carl O. Condon, 66, of Durham passed away at his home on Oct. 19, 2018. Carl was born on Oct. 10, 1952 in Portland, Maine, to Carl R. and Alice Ann (Dogan) Condon. He graduated from Freeport High School, joined the Navy, and was honorably discharged due to a back injury. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in the University of Maine system and was self-employed for decades, owning rental properties.Carl married Andrea Dahlgren in 1973 and together they welcomed their daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Condon in 1977, whom Carl affectionately nicknamed "Miss Munchkin".To honor Beth's memory after her tragic death, Carl founded the Beth Condon Scholarship at the Yarmouth High School where Beth had been a student. He was also an integral partner in establishing the Beth Condon Memorial Pathway in Yarmouth and her Butterfly Garden along the path.Carl's hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting, boating, and campfires. He lived in Alaska for a couple years during his 30s. In recent years he has been spending winters in Florida where he loved to walk for many miles on the beach. He also enjoyed cars, and was happily restoring a 1956 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon.Carl is survived by his mother, Alice Condon; his brother, Cliff Condon and wife, Nancy; and his sister, Cherie Gustafson, husband, Asbjorn, and their children, Oscar and Matilda. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Susie Langerlier.He was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Condon; father, Carl R. Condon; and sister, Catherine (Condon) Campbell.Visiting hours will be held at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane in Yarmouth, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at 11 a.m.-12 p.m., with a service at noontime.  Interment at Burr Cemetery in Freeport will occur directly after the service.In lieu of flowers, Carl's family would like you to consider donationspayable to the:"Beth CondonScholarship" at Yarmouth High School Guidance286 West Elm StreetYarmouth, ME 04096
