My father was Carl's partner on the St. Paul Police Dept. for many years. I remember meeting Carl very early on in my life, and have numerous fond and funny memories of him.

I am sad to see the passing of Carl Hovey Jr. I have many great memories of boating on the St. Croix with him and Gary when I was a kid growing up on the eastside. I never listen to a Jim Reeves recording without thinking about him. There are too many good memories to share here. My deepest sympathy to Gary and all who knew and loved him.
