Cordelia-it was with great sadness that I learned of Carl´s passing. Sadness mixed with such wonderful memories my time with both of you in London nearly 40 years ago. Carl had a big impact on me in many ways, and not just in business. We had lunch at The Union Club a couple of years ago, covered a lot of stuff, and that just added to my bank of happy memories. With love, Brooks

Carl hired me into a very small team that he managed at DLJ in London in 1975. He led the team by his own example of integrity and hard work. He was a gentleman in every way and I am very grateful for the opportunity he gave me to develop my career on Wall Street. Many, many fond memories.

Carl hired me and I joined DLJ. I will keep the lasting memory of a real gentleman. Fondest memory.

I was so sorry to receive this news, however it is very comforting to consider the wonderful life Mr. Menges led and the profound impact he had on so many. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.
