Louise (and family)Carleton's membership on the ABC Board will always be in my memory for his insights and the FUN.We all (spouses, too)became family.

I knew and respected Carleton through our work together on many industry committees especially ABC.He was a terrific professional. But what most endeared him to me was a personal touch: When he heard I had to have my colon removed he called to allay my apprehension by recounting his own similar experience. I had no idea as he was so active in every way.

Louise and Family--so sorry for your loss! It was such a privilege to have worked with this warm and caring colleague. I, Gannett, the industry, and our communities, are all better because of Carleton!

We will miss you, Carlton, in so many ways, beginning with your grace and warmth to new found friends and family.Always game for something new, like rafting the Colorado River, we'll miss your annual Christmas card with your latest great travel destination.

I met Carleton nearly 50 years ago during our shared days as Manhattan residents working at the NY Daily News. He was an insightful and valued colleague and friend. His family has a lot to emulate and be proud of. Warm wishes to Louise.

Carleton was one of the most diligent individuals I have ever known. He was a credit to his family and the newspaper industry. My life was richer knowing and working with him.
