I was shocked and saddened by the news of Mrs. Davenport's passing. My sympathy goes out to her family, friends and the thousands of children that she has impacted throughout her amazing life. Mrs. Davenport's legacy is immeasurable and as God told Abraham in Exodus 32:13, "like the stars in the sky." I remember when I was at Tots School. Mrs. Davenport would tell stories about the many things that had happened in her life. I would always listen and get a little bit more engaged each time I heard the stories about her experiences in Ahoskie, and when Tots was started.
