Carmella Huff

1918 - 2017

Carmella Gentile Messina Huff, 1918-2017, of Trooper, PA. Carmella passed away peacefully on Saturday August 19, 2017 at age 99. She was born on January 7, 1918 in Bridgeport, PA. Carmella was the daughter of the late John Gentile and Rose (Churchill). She was preceded in death by her first husband Metrus F. Messina Sr. who passed in WW II in 1945. Later she then married Denver Huff who passed in 1998, and with whom she shared 50 beautiful years of marriage.
Carmella is survived by her five loving sons Metrus (Dee) Messina and wife Joan (DeSola) of Limerick PA., Dennis Huff and wife Jeanette (Woodward) Huff of Pottstown, PA, William Huff and wife Debra (Kline) Huff of Trooper PA, Richard Huff of Perkasie and John Huff of Blue Bell. She dearly loved her eight Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren.
Carmella was an extremely kind soul with unparalled wisdom to share. She cherished moments with family and was the happiest with their visits. Our Mother was an active loyal member of Visitation BVM church since 1956. Her faith in God was evident in her everyday life.
She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1936. Later on, becoming a mother was her greatest joy. She relished solving crosswords and cryptograms and also enjoyed reading romance novels. In later years, she became a member of Norristown Senior center and volunteered with meals and wheels program.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:45 AM and to her Funeral Mass at 11 AM, both at Visitation BVM Church 196 North Trooper Rd. Norristown, PA 19403. Her interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Visitation BVM in her memory, deeply cherished by all who knew and loved her.
