I was saddened to hear of the passing of such a great lady and exceptional human being. Carmen was one of he first friends I had in Tucson. I was just starting out my teaching career at Julia Keen Elementary School. Carmen was an incredible help and I wasn't even Rene's teacher. Whenever I have a moment of nostalgia, Carmen is always one individual that passes through those memories. Muchas gracias, mi compadre!

I am honored and blessed to have known Carmelita. She was truly a blessing in my life and will miss her. My most heartfelt condolence to all the family.
