Carmine Giarrusso Obituary
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Anna (Detoro) Giarrusso.
Mr. Giarrusso was employed by the Providence Journal working in the circulation department before retiring. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. Sonny was an avid N.Y. Yankee fan and was Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Full Life Christian Fellowship Church.
Besides his wife, he was father of: Steven Giarrusso, Proprietor of the Gas Doctor and his wife Donna, Paul Giarrusso and his wife Diane, Carmine Giarrusso, III, ret. C.P.D. and his wife Robin, Debra DelFino and her husband Richard, Jr. Jerilyn Isom and her husband Tim, Brian Regan and his wife Kimberly, Amy Celona and her husband Thomas, and Kelly Holdridge and her husband Thomas; brother of John Giarrusso, Ann Enos and Linda Houde, nephew of Angelina 'Dolly' DiMaria, grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 2.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Graveside burial with Military Honors to follow in R.I. Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. VISITATION FRIDAY 3-8 P.M. Please omit flowers.
