Not sure what to say?

Carol was a true egalitarian, always supportive and respectful of staff. Her presence in the Department of Anatomy will be truly missed by the staff.

Dear Allan--

While we didn't know Carol well, we know how much her friendship meant to Alice and Billy, who remember her as a very warm, talented, and special person.

We extend our deepest sympathies, and hope you take comfort from knowing that you and your family are in the thoughts of all those who knew and admired Carol.

Last year, I was fortunate to sit next to Carol for 2 days at NIH study section. She made an otherwise painful process fun, with a lot of side banter. We will miss her.

Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family

Dear Allan,
I will miss Carol and I am thinking of you and your children. I wish you all the best.
Always,
Peggy

Dear Allan,
My heart goes out to you and your family. The beautiful service held in Carol's honor today is a testament to the beautiful life she led and the legacy she leaves.
Highest regards,
Jillian

Carol was one of my favorite members of the Department of Anatomy during my years there. I always felt truly respected by her, and her joy in her work was contagious.

Dear Allan, I was so sorry to hear about Carol this morning. I so enjoyed working with her during my years in Anatomy. My thoughts and prayers and with you and your family. Donna

I knew Dr. Basbaum by reputation rather than personally. She was a tremendous role model for women in academic medical centers and especially for those involved in pulmonary research. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
