Carol D. Mutchler of Blue Ash, Ohio died peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the age of 86.  She is survived by her children Karen Ritter (and husband Scott and children Lindsey and Jenn) of Denver; Diane Glasby (and husband Edward and daughter Carolyn) of Ontario, Canada; and Eric Mutchler (and wife Stephanie, and children Katherine and Emma) of Cincinnati.  Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight “Chip” H. Mutchler of Blue Ash and parents, Emma and Guy Starkey of Columbus, Ohio.  


Born in Rochester, New York, Carol attended Washington Irving High School in Tarrytown, New York and graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a BA in Fine Arts and where she was also an active member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After marrying Chip, they relocated to Detroit where he began his career at Ford Motor Company and later moved to Blue Ash where they resided for over 40 years. Dwight passed just before their 60th anniversary.


Carol was a devoted daughter, mother and wife and approached life artistically.   She enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening, floral design, swimming, sewing, fashion and earned an AA in Commercial Art from the University of Cincinnati.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed nature, music, community events, Bobcat football and homecomings, vacations at the family cabin and other travels.  Carol committed her time and attention to the care of her family and home and the education of her children.  She and Dwight valued and supported the educational pursuits for all their children and grandchildren.


Graveside service will be at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, July 20, at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Blue Ash, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute gift donation to the Alzheimer’s Association; Alzheimer's Association | Donate to Fight Alzheimer's Disease Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
