Carole Whitney Poyner

Mrs. Poyner was my first grade teacher at Timmerman School St. Andrews. I was a precocious reader and was only 5 when I started school. On my first day of school, I had lost the two bottom front teeth. My daddy jokingly told me that "snaggle tooths" weren´t allowed in first grade. I was terrified of being found out and wouldn´t speak at all. Mrs. Poyner called my parents who quickly explained that quiet was NOT my normal situation and we got that straightened out. I worked with Carole at the American Red Cross. Carole was such a kind, gentle, sweet lady. I am blessed to have known her. My condolences to her family and prayers.
