I served with Casey on the USS Samuel Gompers and was happy to have reconnected due to Facebook. We talked often, sometimes for hours. I remeber laughing a lot, as most recently as last month. I'm shocked and very saddened that we will not have those phone calls again. My heart goes out to his children, Robyn and extended family as well as his other shipmates that are currently feeling the same loss.

EN2 Casey Middlebrook was a pleasure to serve with. His positive attitude and his work ethic made him an excellent shipmate. Photo - A Division group photo, Helo Deck, USS SAMUEL GOMPERS (AD-37) 1990.

I was stationed on the USS Samuel Gompers with Casey. He was always very polite and nice guy. He was always willing to help and educate younger sailors learning the trade. Condolences to his family.
