Mrs. Eaker was a wonderful mentor, director and teacher. Genie and Beth, I'm so sorry for your loss, but know that she and your dad are dancing together in the clouds now. All my best - Angie

I don't know where I would be today if it had not been for Catherine. She unlocked a talent that I didn't know I had. She was a driving force in my life. I pray that you will feel God's love surround you today and in the days ahead.

Beth and Genie, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful woman and I know you will miss her. Both of your parents played important parts in my Columbia College experience and I am grateful for their example and encouragement.

I loved her dearly. She was my and many others mentor. She was an inspiring teacher and director. She loved children and wrote many wonderful children's plays performed by her daughter, Genie's company, the Patchwork Players. Glad she's reunited with her husband, Gene. Offering sympathy in the loss of your mother. My mother was Júlia Chiles who also attended Furman. Wondering is there a family connection as I also had an Aunt Lýdia, John R Chiles's Sister, associated with Columbia College. My heart goes out to Mr. Eaker, Beth, and Genie. Mrs. Eaker was a guiding force. I followed her lead by making sure that I presented at least 1 children's theatre play a year. I opened the show for free to the local elementary schools. Always the highlight of our season. I thank her for that inspiration! Blessed to have had the Eakers as teachers and mentors. Love to you all.
