Catherine Sullivan Obituary

Catherine E. "Kay" Sullivan BOW, NH Catherine E. Kay (Carew) Sullivan, 79, of Bow, NH, formerly of Hingham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 3, 2008. Kay was born in Hingham, MA, one of ten children born to Joseph M. and Catherine (McCormick) Carew. Kay was a longtime Red Cross Volunteer in Concord, NH and Hingham, MA. She was an accomplished ski racer, competing at an international level. She enjoyed golf, music, the ocean and most of all, her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel R. Sullivan, one sister, Marie Gianni and four brothers, Jack Carew, Robert Carew, Thomas Carew and Richard Carew. She is survived by four sons, Brian J. Sullivan of Franklin, NH, Timothy M. Sullivan of Pulyallup, WA, Lawrence W. Sullivan of Hingham, MA, Daniel R. Sullivan of Waitsfield, VT, four daughters, Kathleen A. Akulonis of Rutland, MA, Mary E. Stuart of Bow, NH, Anne C. Allen of Johnson, VT. and Jean E. Thompson of Bedford, NH, 21 grandchildren, three brothers, James Carew of Hillsboro, NH, Paul Carew of Manchester, NH and Joseph Carew of Sterling, MA, one sister, Anne T. Carew of Bow, NH, along with many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, November 5 at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St., Concord, NH. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 6 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 South Main St., Concord, NH. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Home Health and Hospice Care, 80, Continental Blvd., Merrimack, NH. 03054.

Kay was a wonderful person. I always remembered her jolly laugh and sense of humor growing up, and who could forget the ringing of the supper bell! She was such a dedicated mother and wife, always there for her kids. She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her. Love Patti
