Cecil Allee Obituary
Cecil Edwin Allee (Pawpie) was born on July 9, 1936 to John Chandler and Ila Mae (Butler) Allee in a small cabin in Austonio, Texas as the eighth child of nine. He passed away in the early morning hours of July 13, 2025 in his sleep.
He finished a tenth-grade education level as he had to work picking cotton to help support the family. His father had passed away and his older brothers went off to join the military during the war. Cecil enlisted in the Texas National Guard in 1954 and served until 1962 with an honorable discharge. Cecil later went to work for Texas Comtometer and became a very proficient repairman/salesman. This prepared him to eventually become a successful business owner of Allee Business Machines in Houston, Texas. While vacationing with family in Buchanan Dam, Cecil made the decision to move his family to Marble Falls in the early 1970's and serviced the Marble Falls area as well. He would travel to Houston on Mondays and return to Marble Falls on Fridays.
After retiring from the office machine business, Cecil had always wanted to be a motor coach bus driver. He fulfilled that dream by driving Mary Kay ladies from hotels to the convention center while holding them "captive" with a microphone and plenty of stories. He also drove the bus for the Longhorn football team and Longhorn band in 2000-2001 where he got to attend the games from the sidelines. Another group, that won a radio station sponsored contest to go to the Eric Clapton concert at the Alamodome, convinced him he had Eric Clapton on the bus and he should enter through the tunnel. It got him through a couple of security checkpoints with roaring applause from the group, before he was told by security that he did NOT have Eric Clapton on the bus! That made for a very long back-up out of the tunnel.
At a Halloween party in 1956, he met the love of his life, Patricia Marlene Holt. They were married March 9, 1957 and were married for 67 years until her passing on June 23, 2024. Together they raised four children: Cindy Woolls and husband Buddy Woolls of Hondo, Tx, Eddy Allee and wife Linda of Meadowlakes, Tx, Tammy Allee of Marble Falls, and Patti Mezger and husband David Mezger of Marble Falls, Tx.
Also surviving Cecil are his beloved grandchildren: Mary Beth (Jacob) Armstrong of Pearland, Tx, Matt (Corin) Woolls of San Antonio, Kaitlyn (Ryan) Goff, Grady Woolls (Allison Bowman) all of Hondo, Tx, Sarah Allee (Michael Fox) of Rochester, NY, Rachel Allee (Glen Stawick) of Austin, Tx, Jonathan (Bailey) Allee of Spicewood, TX, Chase Brooks (Amanda Gattis) of Austin, TX, Cole (Ragan) Gatewood of New Braunfels, TX, Ben (Taylor) Mezger of Waco, TX and Alan Mezger of Marble Falls, TX. He also has 15 great grandchildren that he loved dearly. Cecil is also survived by one remaining sibling, Kenneth (Melba) Allee of Magnolia, Tx along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents John Chandler and Ila Mae Allee, wife Patricia "Patsy" Allee, grandsons, Travis Allee and James Allen Armstrong, sisters Johnie Mae Hamilton, Addie Lois Alford, Mary Pearl Allee and Betty Louise Wiese. Brothers included John C. Allee, Jr., William Franklin Allee, Thomas D. Allee. All five of the Allee brothers were lifetime Grand Lodge of Texas members and each served as Worshipful Masters. He was proud to be a Mason and had hours of memory work that he taught to others.
Cecil will be remembered for his love of entertaining. Not a weekend would pass that we didn't have family/friends visit the small 2-bedroom house near Lake LBJ. He made sure everyone was well fed! If you didn't leave knowing how to water ski, then you didn't stay long enough. He taught many family and friends how to water ski. Weekends were spent sunup to sundown on Lake LBJ. He loved to tell "mostly" true stories that was sure to make you laugh and if you didn't laugh, he'd tell another one until you did. He also served as a matchmaker for his niece, and yes, they are still married to this date. There are too many stories to tell about our dad. He touched many people's lives, and he loved each and every one of you!
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Phoenix Center in Marble Falls, an organization that helps emotionally traumatized children and youth.
Cecil's Funeral Service was held July 17, 2025 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Texas. He was laid to rest in the Tobey Cemetery, Marble Falls, Texas.
