Dr. Strickland was a great professor as well as mentor. Dr. Strickland was the first professor I met when I got to P.V., what a great experience. Many students became successful from his teachings, and many were just lucky enough to have known him. Ol Doc will be greatly missed....there will never be another! God Bless you.

As I reflect on the Life of the Great Dr. C. L Strickland, my initial encounter with him was fall of 1996 my freshman year. To me, Doc was more than a husband to his wife, a father to his children, a friend to a stranger, a therapist and counselor to those who needed a listening ear, an educator to the aspiring, but to me he is My Life Long Coach and “Pops” who I am going to miss very much. The first lesson you taught me as a young man...

Dr. Strickland was a friend, advisor and teacher. He was very instrumental in helping his students matriculate through the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences program. As a student, I enjoyed conversing with him and listening to his philosophy about life and people. He was a true intellectual who enjoyed analyzing and critiquing fundamental beliefs as they come to be conceptualized and formulated. He was a kind and caring person. He will be missed. My prayers are with the family.

Dr STRICKLAND was a dedicated man to the students and the Agriculture department at Prairie View. He mentor and help a lot people thought those doors at Prairie View and now he will be waiting at the gates to help guide us all on in.

We are very sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed at the University. Our prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.
