No words... genuine, kind, witty, sensitive, stubborn, smart, compassionate man with seemingly endless energy and capacity to give. Nothing seems quite enough. I had known Chuck for a number of years from attending wakes and funerals at Saint Bernards, and saw that he effectively conducted himself in a supportive but not maudlin manner for the survivors of the the deceased. He had presided over the passage of many of our parishioners, professionally yet with a good deal of empathy for the position that they found themselves in.

When our eighteen day old grandson died from a virus, our family learned first hand what Chuck was like. I’ve...
