No words... genuine, kind, witty, sensitive, stubborn, smart, compassionate man with seemingly endless energy and capacity to give. Nothing seems quite enough. I am forever blessed to have called him friend. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and huge circle of friends. The world has lost one of it's finest.

My old friend...how much fun did we have back at Newton Junior College? Always so great to see your smile over the years. You were kind and funny...and always there when so many needed you the most. I am sad that your time has come...way too soon. Rest easy my friend. Deepest condolences to your family and many loved ones. ❤ Love Patty

I had known Chuck for a number of years from attending wakes and funerals at Saint Bernards, and saw that he effectively conducted himself in a supportive but not maudlin manner for the survivors of the the deceased. He had presided over the passage of many of our parishioners, professionally yet with a good deal of empathy for the position that they found themselves in.
When our eighteen day old grandson died from a virus, our family learned first hand what Chuck was like. I’ve never known another funeral director who could conduct himself both with dignity as well as with such a light touch.
His humor, both appropriate and timely rendered, helped keep us balanced as we went through the horrid experience of burying this child. He was comforting to our daughter and her husband who suffered the loss that is unimaginable to any parent of young children, unimaginable but only all too real and painful when it strikes your own family.
Some time after our grandson’s death, Chuck helped our family again when my 92 year old father passed away. Again, he was empathetic, compassionate and professional.
Chuck was a genuine “good guy” and our family will miss him.

It was with great sadness I learned of Chuck’s passing. Though we had lost touch with each other over the last years we did have a very nice conversation just a short time ago. Chuck was an usher in my wedding and Godfather to my youngest son. We had the type of relationship that it seemed we could not see each other for a long while but continue the conversation in the same place when we caught up again. Always thought “the big Dink” would bury me. My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all the Blackington family. Chuck will always be in our hearts and sourly missed.

I enjoyed knowing Charles . I knew him from cribbage and he was a great competitor. From the time he took ill, I have said healing prayers for him each week at my services. I’m sad to hear of his loss. May he Rest In Peace. May his family find peace in the years ahead.

Always with a sharp tongue and drinking a "red swill", Chuckie was a core member of the Needham VFW cribbage group.
Heaven needed another cribbage player and lousy golfer.
He will be missed.
