I send my condolences to the family of Charles Buckland. He was such a dear, hard-working, compassionate man. I had several phone conversations with him over the years as he was a donor to our child welfare organization in Traverse City. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A true gentleman who knew the importance of family! Mr. Buckland, you were truly one of the best people I've known in my 60+ years of life. I remember you'd be coming home from a hard day at work, there were tons of kids visiting your children, and after dinner you were in the midst of it all. When I think of you when I was either a child or in more recent years, all I ever knew you to be was a kind and gentle man. I don't ever remember ever seeing you cross. You led a great family and you will never know how much you meant to the kids in the neighborhood. I'm so sorry to hear this news.
