Bro. Charles J. Cummiskey died on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. He was 91 years of age and 74 years in Marianist life. Bro. Charles served St. Mary's University for 45 years as a Chemistry Professor as well as other administrative roles. His immediate relatives are: John S. Cummiskey of Falls Church, VA, his brother; and second cousins Cathy Harkey, St. Louis, MO; Lorene Lidstom, Cockeysville, MD; Diane Diamond, St. Louis, MO; Sharon Leonard, St. Louis, MO; Jackie Sofonar, St. Louis, MO.

FUNERAL SERVICES

There will be a viewing at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15, in the Marianist Residence Chapel, followed at 7:00 PM with the Rosary. Viewing will resume on Wednesday, September 16, in Guadalupe Chapel at St. Mary's University at 3:00 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Marianist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Marianist Mission, 4435 E. Patterson Rd., Dayton, OH 45430.

RIP Brother Charles. I still think of you walking down Garney Hall 35years ago when you were my favourite Chemistry Teacher. I still remember things you taught me. RIP. JMJC

My uncle is John Cummiskey, brother to Brother Charles. I had the wonderful memories of Brother Charles coming to Virginia for Christmas' for as long as I can remember.... I am 42 years old. He spent one Christmas break helping me study for my high school Chemistry mid term. He truly "dumbed" down the subject for my non-science mind to understand. One of my top three memories of him☺
It saddens me that my uncle's health isn't well enough for him to travel to TX for Brother Charles's...

Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of this brilliant and deeply religious man. He was an anchor and a beacon. He was a speaker of truth yet he was fun loving. Although he held strong opinions he was not judgmental. He deeply loved and admired his fellow Marianists. He was firm but always kind.

He usually joined us (including my mom and my now grown sons) for St. Patrick's Day celebrations. He shared his love of all things Irish with my kids. He had a wonderful Irish hat and...

Brother Charles was my teacher in 1945/46 at Provencher school,St.Boniface,Manitoba,We kept in touch for 55 years.My sympathies to the family and the Brothers at St.Mary's
