Kathy and I pray that Charlie experiences the peace that surpasses all understanding in the presence of our loving God and the Saints. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

There was not a single time Charlie came to my house that he didn't go to the kitchen, even when people were leaving, to wash and put away dishes. He said "Denihan Hospitality" and would shoo me out. I never met a man in NY who had manners like he did, or a dedication to leaving a home in the same state he found it, even if others would leave without a thought otherwise. Yes he was fun and sunshine and full of spirit, but he was also thoughtful, and sensitive, and sweet, and even unexpectedly shy...and smart. He was so smart - who else would speak of the ides of March like Charlie. He loved my "sad clown" best of all...he said it reminded him of himself once. Nobody who knew him will ever be the same again. I miss him in a way words could not describe.

I would have loved to have met Tully's "big brother" and to have known the larger than life generous, magnetic and caring personality that is referenced by so many. I will make a contribution to the Benedictine Foundation in Charlie's name. God bless you and your family.
