Dear Doe Family,

I am very sorry for your loss. Charlie was a great guy. I remember the meeting with Charlie and his crew from the restaurant at Pine Street Inn in the mid-1980s. Charlie wanted to come to Pine St. once a month with an entire meal for the Pine St. guests - a regular "99" meal - the works, including dessert, once a month, on Tuesday. (I was the volunteer coordinator at the time.)
Every month Charlie came in with all of the food and a crew of restaurant staff....

To the Doe Family: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Charlie Doe, who I met in 1986 when he and I traveled Manchester and Hooksett, New Hampshire looking for sites that could become another 99 Restaurant. Charlie Doe is a "once in a lifetime" person that you never forget, and who brought happiness to many many people. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Charlie was a very special man, whom I met in 1979, when I started at the Billerica "99". Back then when he walked into one of his Restaurants he knew everyone by name, from the Managers to the dishwashers. I have so many memories of him coming in and he was always so pleasant. My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Doe family. Charlie touched so many lives that his invigorating spirit will live on forever. I'm just one of the countless many that has fond memories of him. He just had a way of making everyone feel special and appreciated no matter how big the company got. My favorite memories are those that were at the Pine Street Inn!
