Charles "Tom" Gradel

So sad to hear of his passing, I wish I could have visited with him once more. I met Tom at the YMCA and always enjoyed chatting with him and listening to his stories. He invited me and my boys to help him split wood once and meet his dogs, in which he loved so much. My kids had such a good time riding along with him while he showed us his woods, and then back to his barn to split wood and play with his dogs. He was such a joy and will be missed by many.

This one hurts. I met Tom in 2013 when I transferred to the East Y. If time allowed we would talk up at the front desk before and after his workouts every time he came in. He would tell me all about his dogs and how he would make this sourdough bread with a starter that he had had for 30 some years. He always told me he would bring in some bread for me... I´m sure it would have been delicious. We would laugh talking about computers/technology because he was not tech savvy, in fact he still...

My deepest sympathies to his son, C.T., and his family. My first job was at Mr. G's working for Tom and Darlene! I was lucky enough to see Tom about 2 years ago when he came into my work to get his golf cart fixed. He was a wonderful boss and I have so many fond memories of him! RIP
