After completing graduate school, I had the honor of working for Mr. Kurfess as a legislative fellow in 1977-78. The experience was transformative for me. Mr. Kurfess was the model of an outstanding public servant. He was highly intelligent, intellectually curious, extremely hard working, and profoundly ethical. I am grateful to Charles Kurfess for giving me the opportunity to practice law with him after I graduated from law school. Later we served together on the Wood County Common Pleas Court. He was always a dedicated public servant and a compassionate Judge. He will be greatly missed.
