Charles S. Middleton was born January 20, 1943, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Cecil A. and Marie Barnes Middleton and passed away November 7, 2025, at the age of 82.         


Stan is survived by his wife Patty of the home; son Wade Middleton and his wife Angel of San Antonio, TX; grandsons, Logan Middleton and Colin Rivera; granddaughter Haley Moellendorf; brother, Cecil “Bo” Middleton of Anacoca, LA; sister Wanda Maxine Schlau of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete, Dawcett and Ronnie and a granddaughter Casey Rivera.


He married Patricia Ann David on June 29, 1963, in Ardmore and they had been married for 62 years.


Stan attended Mannsville and Ardmore High School, Murray State College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1974.


Stan was active in various civic clubs during his lifetime, including the Ardmore Elks, Moose and Optimist Club.  I was also active in coaching several levels of youth, men and women teams in softball, basketball and baseball.  He was of the Protestant faith.


He retired in 2005 as circulation director for the The Daily Ardmoreite, after 30 years of service with the newspaper.


In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, reading and gardening.  He has an avid passion for horse racing was a devoted Oklahoma University football fan.  He was a great lover of their pets.


Graveside services will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Robert Wilkens officiating.


The family asks that memorials be made to the Ardmore Animal Shelter.

Ms Patty and Wade...I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember Stan was always so kind to all of us kids in the neighborhood in Ardmore. I remember we used to play basketball at a little church across from the park and Stan would stop occasionally and shoot baskets with us. We all respected and admired him. I'll be praying for you guys.

My heart goes out to the family. Dtan will surely be missed.

You had an extra long married life and that is rare these days. I’m sorry you lost him. I didn’t know him but I know he was good to you and you made a great family. May you feel God’s comfort.

our heart goes out to all family and friends ! (he was my paper route boss when i was 13/14 yrs old) & my mom worked at the daily ardmoreitte ,he was a nice man !
