Not sure what to say?

I was 5 or 6 and my dad made arrangements with your dad to babysit me at Newport News Swimming pool (54-55) he and Rowdy taught me well. I had a photo of the three of us.

Coach Nuttycombe began his track coaching career at NNHS my senior year and was not only a good coach, but a good man. I believe of all his state champions, our mile relay team in 1957 would have been his first. It was a great day for us. L to R: Coach Nuttycombe, Harvey Weinstein, Kim Whiteside, Raoul Weinstein, Richard Coltrane, Coach Conn. RIP Charlie Nuttycombe.

Coach Nuttycombe was one of the most interesting people I have ever talked to. His wisdom, humility, and humor was amazing. Coach was a faithful member of our St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, which allowed me to talk to him often. He was one of the reasons I enjoyed going to church. He was such a proud father of his children, and such a wonderful father figure for many high school athletes who were blessed to have him in their lives.
He professed his love for Betsy in open...

I was just a small part of the Track & Field Dynasty at NNHS. It is an honor to have been part of the team led by Coaches Nuttycombe and Conn. They were such great leaders. I do wonder how two super coaches managed to work so well together, since they were individually so great. Thanks for the memories. I lost touch after high school, but never lost the impact or the memories. He left quite the legacy via the ones he touched. My sincere condolences to the family.

I very well remember our days together at Randolph Macon College. My condolences to the family.

My sincere sympathy goes out to the family of coach Nuttycombe. I am a member of the class of 1964. I have fond memories, Coach is one of those guys who if your have the privilege of being in his presence you never forget. I’m so sorry I missed seeing him at the 55th reunion.
God Bless
RIP

R.I.P coach!

I played for Coach in the 70s at Menchville High School. What an experience. He was a good man and great coach. He will be dearly missed.
