Not sure what to say?

I still think about you Dr. Riedel. I wish you were still here on earth to continue sharing your knowledge and kindness. You are missed. I hope to see you again one day in Heaven.

I just found out that Dr Riedel had passed. I´ll always have a special place in my heart for the man who put my daughter back together after a serious car accident. Our family will be forever grateful that his skill and dedication saved my daughter and now we are gifted with 3 wonderful granddaughters. Rest In Peace.

I think about you often and remember your incredible gift as a surgeon, and as a kind and caring person. You always took the time to explain every procedure thoroughly no matter the time or how tired you were. You put my family and friends at ease before every surgery. I wish that you were still here. I am going to cheer on the Bengals today during the Super Bowl, just for you, as I keep you in my thoughts.

I was shocked and saddened when I learned of Dr. Riedel's death. Ten years ago he fixed my cervical spine and I am forever grateful. As a fellow Ohioian, I was pleased at the time that another Buckeye was providing great care in the DC area. Surprisingly, we grew up only 5 miles apart and had acquaintances in common. A big loss for us all!

Dr. Riedel was my neurosurgeon at Columbia. I didn't exactly choose him, rather fate did. I was broken and really this knight in shining armor fixed the problems in my neck. It was 20 years ago this year.... I was 33 and the whole world in front of me. The day was tragic and then Riedel did surgery and fixed everything the best he could.
I was searching online for my doctors and came upon this. It's quite heartbreaking to know this happened to him. If any family is out there.... please...

This past week I was at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) in Arlington, VA at a doctor appointment. I was sharing my medical history about how Dr. Riedel had removed an ependymoma from my spinal cord. That is when the doctor told me of his passing and shook his head still upset by the news. This made me very sad and upset, too. Dr. Riedel was a wonderful, intelligent and gifted surgeon. He was truly a gentle, kind soul when it came to dealing with patients. During my visits he always took...

Way leads on to way, and life has a way of keeping us occupied with daily schedules and challenges leaving little time to stay in touch with people whom we respect, cherish and have shared experiences.
I learned about Chuck's passing this week. What an unbelievable void and a resentment that I did not stay in touch.
In 1990, congress declared the 90s to be "the decade of the brain". At that time I was a sales representative for Codman, a progressive company with...

I just learned of Dr Reidel's passing as I was about to call for an appointment. I only saw the doctor a couple of times but was incredibly impressed and grateful that he didn't push surgery, which is so often the case. He seemed like a wise and caring doctor, and I am so sorry to learn of his death.

I m so sorry to hear of this. It's very strange to me since he had done my 2 back surgery's and my Mom was from Ohio (basically why I choose him). I had told him how my sister had passed from that type of cancer and how sad it was (she was 44). He said I hope I never get that. I was going to call for an appt. and saw he had passed. So sorry for his wife and kids. I'm really in shock even thou this is a year later. Monica B.
