Hey Dad, you are always in my heart.

June 18, 2012

Rose, Cindy and Sue,
We are so sorry to hear about Charlie. We both have many very fond memories of times at the Claymont Tennis Courts and laughing with him and you, Rose. Those were the good days! Stories about the 1st blind date are ones that we've repeated to friends a number of times. So many memories! You are in our thoughts. What a great guy he was.
Love to you all.

Dear Rose, Cindy, Sue and family, Please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss. Prior to learning of Charlie's death today I had been thinking about him over the past few days including the last time I saw him and spoke with him. He was a kind and dear man. Reading his obituary brought your mother to mind, Rose. I will forever be grateful to you and Charlie for putting me in touch with her and for her generous hospitality during my dad's hospitalization at Manatee Memorial Hospital following his accident on the Tampa Bay Skyway. Edie, too, was a treasure.

When we scrimaged i drew him to defend, I am 6'5". later I pledged Sigma Chi and got to know him quite well. I have lots of stories. Rose, I'm 80 and my memory sometimes fails, lbut I believe I introduced you to Charlie. Don't know why I googled him today, but I'm glad I did.He was a great friend for the short time I was with him. Condolences to the Share family. Just wanted you to know how much joy that 1957-58 Hawks basketball team brought to a 14yo, and Mr. Share was an integral part of that joy. Games were so affordable that a 14yo could use his allowance and odd-job work money and go to many of the games. Even saw a couple of Celtic games in the Finals. Thank you.

Now dad has seven great grandchildren with the birth of Renee' Elaine Kennedy. It certainly affirms the cycle of life as she joins the world.

Dad, We don't get to choose our parents but if I was ever given that opportunity, I would have chosen you. You were a wonderful, supportive and loving Father and we had many years together. For that I feel blessed.
You gave me unconditional love and encouraged me to follow my passions, even if you didn't always understand them. Your teachings, your integrity and your humor will live on for generations to come. I love you and I will always love you. Toot

Grandpa,
Although we would ride each others nerves with tutoring and sports, I will always remember that one thing that you instilled in me... "Attitude is everything!" You were right and it took me getting married and having kids to realize it. I will be sure to instill it into my kids like you did with me. I appreciate everything that you have done for me over the years. It has made me a better person. I can still hear you laughing and saying "Too much".
I will love you forever!

How I loved seeing him and "Grandmom Rose" at so many West High events. He always called me "the little principal", and I adored him. Sympathy and love to all the family.

Grandpa- one time at a softball tournament there was this man who was a palm reader. So, inbetween games some teammates and I went over to him and asked him to read our palms. This man pointed out a freckle on the palm of one of my fingers and asked if any family member or someone close to the family died around the time I was born. I said yes, my great grandma Bender died shortly after I was born. He told me this freckle meant that I had a guardian angel that grandma Bender was probably my guardian angel.
If Mariah gets a freckle on the palm of one of her fingers, I will know why. Thank you for everything:) love you lots!!!
