I will never forget his kindness, understanding, patience, and intellect. He was a supportive and generous person and always made time for me whenever I sought his advice. He will be deeply missed. Charlie Shook was one of the finest human beings anyone could be privileged to know. A man of immense intellect and unbounded kindness, he was always a comfortable and delightful companion. All of us at the 49ers were enriched by his presence and by knowing him.
It has been said that many people who are modest in their character often have the least to be modest about. I think this was true in Charlie's case. For all his formidable attributes, he was not one to brag.
