I am sorry to hear about the passing of Charlie. I worked for the B & B department on the railroad and spent a lot of that time in Whittier. I got to know Charlie there. He was alway friendly and helpful. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am grateful for the life of Uncle Charlie and echo the sentiments of my sister, Barbara Larsen-- we share the same memories of Uncle Charlie; the ones that meant the most. At the time of the Alaska earthquake, Charlie, my mom, Barbara and one of Charlie's kids were driving back from town (Charlie was driving) when the earthquake hit. I remember when Uncle charlie and family arrived in Anchorage to start another life. I know my Mom was happy that the decision was made, that with a helping hand the stoll family arrived. I remember the hearty laugh and the smile he always had on his face. I remember how he showed me how to make a cake with out bubbles in it.
