Dear Beth,
I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. As a member of the Mass ANG from 1953 to 1988 I have many fond memories of General Sweeney.

Phalsbourg, France and the many activities of AFT during the years have etched my soul. May he rest in peace. A great man and soldier.

Paul J. Zakur, Lt/Col retired

Anyone who had an encounter with Charlie, surely met a man who left...

Your Dad was my C.O. in the 50s . He was a great guy who was never so important that he couldn't stop by the shop for coffee and conversation . My prayers are with him .

Hello Marylyn and family. I am so sorry to hear about General Sweeney. I only knew of him from your pictures of him for your website (howesbayou) but I know you were close. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Hugs, Ken
