Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to Cheryl's family. I was in Miss Smith's first 3rd grade class at Fawcett. She was my all-time favorite teacher. My family and I fondly remember having her over for dinner. She also attended my birthday party and brought me a huge bouquet of daisies. If she saw me walking home from school, she would pick me up in her blue mustang car and drive me home. I will always remember her as a wonderful teacher and a very special person.

I know you don't know us, but we are good friends of Laurie's. We are sorry to hear about your loss. Kay and I both know what you are going through. You and your family are in our prayers.

Steve and Ashley, we are so sorry for your loss. Cheryl was a very special person. We will miss chatting with her in the cul-de-sac and seeing her smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the memories of someone who was worth fighting for. Some one, like a mother. Someone who was a friend. Whom every cent was worth it. To a friend, a guardian, and to a loving Teacher. My wishes to hear family, her friend, she will be a blessing for heaven above.

Dear Gundy Family,

I loved when Cheryl would come into the pharmacy. She always had a warm smile on her face. No matter how her day had gone she was smiling brightly asking how our day had been. She always took the time to have a conversation with us. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her. I know I will miss seeing her come in to talk.

I was shocked to see Cheryl's picture in the Tribune this morning. I remember first meeting her when she and Steven were dating and how surprised I was that a school teacher could have a social life. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family left behind by a soul who I am sure is singing with the heavenly choir.

Steve, Barb and I just heard of Cheryl's passing. We knew her to be one of the most caring and compassionate souls we have met. Her love for you, and your family was clear to us in our conversations with her. God bless you and we know Cheryl has earned her place in heaven.

I was in Miss Smith's 4th grade class at Fawcett Elementary School. She was such an inspiration to me! After having her as a teacher I decided I wanted to be a teacher too! Unfortunately I didn't persue my dream like she did. She had way about her teaching that I never wanted to miss a day of school! I believe that year was the only year I had perfect attendance! May God bless her family and give them the love and comfort they need during this time. I too lost my mother to cancer in...

I was in Mrs. Gundy's 4th grade class in 1980-81 @ Fawcett. She was a wonderful teacher and such a nice person. She is one of a small handful of Tacoma teachers that I can say inspired me to teach. I am beginning my 14th year as a teacher! My deepest sympathy. God bless.
