Chester Walton "C.W." Kidd Jr.

CW KIDD WAS MY GRANDFATHER'S FRIEND. HE AND BUD BROWN KNEW ONE ANOTHER FROM THEIR ARMY AIR CORPS DAYS ABOARD B24'S. THEY WERE FRIENDS THROUGHOUT LIFE. CW WAS THE KIND OF MAN WHO EITHER LIKED YOU OR HE DIDN'T. HE WAS A KIND, AND WARM HEARTED MAN. WHEN MY GRANDFATHER DIED IN 1999 I GOT A CHANCE TO MEET CW. THROUGH HIS STORIES AND MEMORIES I WAS ABLE TO BETTER KNOW MY OWN GRANDFATHER AS A YOUNG MAN. I EVEN GOT THE CHANCE TO VISIT CW SEVERAL TIMES AT HIS HOME IN CHARLOTTE. HE WELCOMED MY BROTHER...

My name is Roxie Kidd -C. W. was my Daddy, Best Friend and Companion.
I don't understand where he went and why I can't find him. I have looked and looked for him at our home, in the yard, at his farm and on his Golf Cart he is nowhere to be found - I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND-
I HAVE BEEN VERY SAD!! I MISS MY BEST FRIEND!

Helen, your family will always be a part of some of the best memories I have. CW will always be a part of all of the childhood memories and stories that Skipper and Heather tell their children. I know they are both better adults for having grown up as part of the extended family of the Rockin K. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

C.W. and Helen always treated me like one of their own and I loved them for that. C.W. was a wonderful man and he will be missed. My greatest condolences to the entire family.
