Will always remember Christine as a wonderful colleague and good friend

My son was a patient of Dr. Wijman's. Although he had many other doctors during the course of his 25-year illness, she was one of the few who've not only left an indelible memory but also for whom I have a profound gratitude. She didn't treat him long nor exclusively by any means. But she had a way of communicating her interest and her compassion as no other physician did. He felt it; I felt it. I have thought about her now and then since I had the pleasure to spend some time with her. She was my first real teacher in neurology; my senior resident.Whenever I had gone to San Jose, which I don't do that often, I met her; she was very kind to spare a few minutes for me. I just got the news of her passing today. For me, all along, she has been living with full of energy, a bright smile, a warm and friendly soul and heart, and clinical acumen that you envy for. As much as I thought I knew Christine, I am in awe of her numerous accomplishments since we trained together as Neurology Residents 20 years ago. She always told it like it is, typically with a big smile, no matter what the subject. Her unique combination of being Fearless, diligent and compassionate will always remain in my memory. I am very sad and sorry to hear she is gone.

Dr. Wijman was helped my family in desparate times and saved the life of a family member, we will be forever grateful

The news of Christine death came as a shock. There isn't much one can say to ease sens of loss. May a lifetime of wonderful memories give strength to family and friends and colleagues in the days ahead.
