I started as a new surgical attending at Mt Sinai where I spent an initial 3 months in the Respiratory Surgical ICU in the fall of 1976, before starting as the SICU Director at the Bronx VA. Chris was a brilliant, deeply knowledgeable truly noble and at times very funny man, who was a great role model for me.
