Not sure what to say?

I was thinking about you today Pipes so I drove up to your grave. It’s been a long time. The last I saw you was at the 2004 St Pattys parade in Southie. Drinking beers and laughing because you were wearing your greens and I was wearing my blacks!!! The people there didn’t know what to make of it. Love the 1st Mar Div patch on your Army uniform.
Rest In Peace my friend!
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!

Remembering SSG Chris Piper todayServed with him in Afghanistan, meeting him for the first time just weeks before his passing. Didn’t know him well (I was assign to 1SFG), but recall him as the epitome of a quiet professional and admired his brave heart.

Rest In Peace.DOL

For my dear loving Husband, Chris Piper

Hey Brother. You have to be in a better place than the nonsense going on down here. Had a cocktail on the 16th and thought of the laughs we shared on the Training Det., and the pain we shared in SFAS. Never forgotten. I even ordered a KIA bracelet awhile back so you're physically with me, as well as spiritually. Rest with Jesus brother. De Oppresso Liber.....

15 years and you are not forgotten. Rest easy, Brother. Maybe throw a good word in for us down here still! This world is crazy. Still love ya and miss ya! Prayers for your family and your brothers. Save a cold one for me.

I miss my Husband, Chris, every single day and am so thankful that once in awhile I am "found" by friends of his who share stories about him. There is a sadness that has just never left me and I just have not "moved on" the way people think I should. I still wonder all the time, "why him??" There are so many bad people in this world and they seem to live forever. Sorry, I know no one likes negativity but I'm being honest with my feelings. Connie Piper

Very sad to learn about Chris's death. I just learned about it Saturday November 16, 2013. I was on a veterans cruise to the Bahamas and met a friend of Chris. I served with Chris in Wpns Co. 3/8 Marine from 1981-1983. Chris, Steve Tobin and I became tight friends, we were all from Boston, Mass. The three of us spent all of our time together doing Marine mischief. Chris was very well liked amongst us Marines. My fondest memory of Chris was he became a Marine sniper and how happy and proud we...

I served with Chris at Camp Lejeune in 1986 and 1987, when he was honorably discharged. He once took me on a PT run thru the woods and yelled at me for not beating him. We also went overseas together in 1986 (NATO cruise). I respected him for his knowledge, passion and leadership, while serving as a Marine. RIP Leatherneck, and Semper Fidelis. You are not forgotten.
