Not sure what to say?

I worked with Chris during college at The White Horse Inn in Champaign, Illinois. He was a great guy, a great leader, and enjoyed everything he did, from work to play and anything in between. My heartfelt condolences to all those he touched throughout his life, particularly his son, Matthew.

I've know Chris since the 7th grade. I found out about his death nearly 4 months after it occured and I am still in shock. Every time one of us was at a major league baseball game, we would phone one another. I cannot belive my phone wil never ring again.

I am honored to have crossed paths with such a memorable person. Great people make perfect angels.

Our deepest sympathy goes to the Schoettler family for their tremendous loss; Chris' father Bob always spoke very highly of Chris and was obviously very proud of him.

A long time friend, best remembered for his great personality. To be around him was always a blast simply for his happy go lucky charm.
I'm thankful to have known Chris, he was a great friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Dear Friends, I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Chris's passing. He was a nice young man and gone too soon. I have had the pleasure of watching my children grow up with Chris and his sisters Tracy, Julie, and brother David. I will always look back on the memories of them around Carnaby Court fondly.

Thank you to all that have paid your respects.
Chris gave us all memories that we'll never forget.
He was a father, son, nephew, uncle, and brother.
He was a cousin, a clown, and a friend like no other.
I'm still processing that my brother is actually gone.
We used to stay up all night, and party till dawn.
It's hard when someone you love is gone the next day.
You may wish you had said all you wanted to say.
We touched his life, and he touched all of...

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Matthew,
You have my sincere sympathy and prayers. I had the pleasure of coaching with Chris at Morgan Field. He was a good friend and such a positive person. He was such a wonderful father and I really admired him.He had a great impact on me.
May God grant you his peace in this time.
