Not sure what to say?

Dear family and friends of BM3 Chris Sommers, I am Master Chief Claudia Simpson and I was Chris’s “Doc” on the USCGC MACKINAW.
I just found a picture “old school film” with Chris and I on the ships bridge. Chris was a fantastic shipmate and a dear person. He had a great sense of humor and I considered him part of my CG family.
I feel as if Chris is an Angel and sending me a little good luck nudge from Heaven. I will be retiring after 30 years of service this summer. It is a lucky...

Just wanted to say I miss you so much Christopher. I think about you everyday and wonder what your life would have been like if you were still here for years to come. I know you would have been an outstanding man and that is the way I remember you today. I am proud for what you stood for, and am proud to have been your mother. I can't wait to be with you someday and tell you how much I love you. I feel like a part of my heart and life is missing that I will never get back. I will cherish my...

Happy Easter Christopher,
Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you today and everyday. I remember when you played Jesus Christ in "The Passion Play" at St. Judes Church. You were so good and I remember you carrying the cross up the aisle and to the center of the stage and being nailed to the cross. Now Jesus is carrying you until we meet again. I am so proud of you and what you accomplished in your short life here on earth. I love you so much and miss you even more. Until next time,...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

To Christopher Clyde Sommers,

You were born for God and from two wonderful parents, Scott A. and Robin R. Voreis (Sommers).

Your great, great, great, great Grandma Bailey was Native American. You had Irish, Swiss, German, Dutch, English and very proud american ancestors. You were very patriotic to serve in the United States Coast Guard, serving your country.

I give your mother, Robin, the full credit for guiding you into the Coast Guard, a direction that caused you to...

We have ordered you the most beautiful headstone Christopher, we know you would love it. We have the Coast Guard emblem and your high school picture etched in the top and the Mackinaw ship and the 2 boats at Calumet Harbor on it too. It is beautiful, just like you son. We love you so much and miss you even more. We will be with you again someday, our faith in God sustains us. You will always be our "Little Mr. Coast Guard."

I think about you every single day Christopher. I love you so much and am so proud to be your mother. You gave of yourself to so many and your country and for that I am grateful. I will forever be proud of you and I can't wait till I see you again in heaven. Till then know that I will love you forever and ever till the end of time. All I ever wanted was a boy and a girl and God granted me that wish when I had you and Jamie. I thank him for the time I was given with you. I love you son, never...

I give my deepest sympathy to the Sommers family for your loss. Chris is a good man and a hard working sailor who has a passion for his work.
