Christopher Stakis Obituary
July 19, 1969 - April 1, 2024
Columbia, South Carolina - A funeral service for Christopher George Stakis, 54, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Columbia, SC with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024 with Trisagion prayers recited at 7:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Christopher died April 1, 2024. Born on July 19, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of Dr. Anthony Daniel Stakis and Patsy Ann Jones Stakis. He graduated Mt. Lebanon High School, Class of 1986, in Pennsylvania. Christopher worked part time at a pharmacy in high school and worked at the Greek Festival with his dear friend, Taki Belios. He enjoyed learning the Greek language and his mommy's cooking. A talented artist, he loved to draw and loved nature, especially trees and the ocean. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Columbia, SC.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sondra Gail Brunone (Michael) of Sedona, Arizona, and niece, Chelsea Brunone of Austin, Texas.
