I was working late tonight when I came upon this news. I was completely shocked and am at a loss for words. I remember meeting Clarel; I believe he must have been 12 at the time, but mature beyond his years and so gracious. What a wonderful impression he made! I am so sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences to your family.

When John and Monica told us the news, we were moved to tears in the realization that the world had truly lost a beautiful soul.

No words are in existence that could even attempt to capture the brilliance of Clarel II...How can one describe the beauty of such a soul, which expressed itself to others so eloquently in the purest joy and love; he could capture your heart in an instant...and leave an impression for a lifetime.
One cannot contain the beauty of a sunset, the blooming of a flower, the path of a shooting...

To the Antoine Family, I am listening to Hoe-Down as I am writing this and thinking back on all of the wonderful times I spent with Clarel at Horace Mann and Harvard. I will always remember the first time I met him. We were in the gym at Horace Mann for soccer preseason and he walked in a little late, impeccably dressed (for soccer practice that is), and I thought "well this guy must be amazing".
