I was working late tonight when I came upon this news. I was completely shocked and am at a loss for words. I remember meeting Clarel; I believe he must have been 12 at the time, but mature beyond his years and so gracious. What a wonderful impression he made! I am so sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences to your family.

Dear Clarel, Ingrid, Nathalie and Family,

When John and Monica told us the news, we were moved to tears in the realization that the world had truly lost a beautiful soul.

Our last visit to Anguilla was filled with so many deep and meaningful conversations with a man who was clearly filled with wisdom beyond his years.

We are also at at a loss for words and can only say that we love you and will pray that your family will find peace in knowing that Clarelle is surely in the most beautiful of places, at peace and present to the love of God and the love of his family and friends.

All our love,

Chris and Heather Clayton

Dearest Clarel, Ingrid, Nathalie and Family,

"..........There are NO Words.........."

No words are in existence that could even attempt to capture the brilliance of Clarel II...How can one describe the beauty of such a soul, which expressed itself to others so eloquently in the purest joy and love; he could capture your heart in an instant...and leave an impression for a lifetime.
One cannot contain the beauty of a sunset, the blooming of a flower, the path of a shooting star; one can only bask in their glory for a moment, and then burn their memory deep into the heart and soul for eternity.
To Us, that was Clarel II.

There are no words......................
to express the grief we feel for your loss. We can only offer our friendship and love and the knowledge that we, too, loved him deeply. Anguilla and we will NEVER be the same without him, but we will keep the gift of our times spent with him and the privilege of knowing him in our hearts forever, celebrating him through our own lives!

God Bless You All !!!

All Our Love and Prayers,

Arna Plumb

To the Antoine Family, I am listening to Hoe-Down as I am writing this and thinking back on all of the wonderful times I spent with Clarel at Horace Mann and Harvard. I will always remember the first time I met him. We were in the gym at Horace Mann for soccer preseason and he walked in a little late, impeccably dressed (for soccer practice that is), and I thought "well this guy must be amazing". He looked like Thierry Henry. Turns out Clarel was amazing in more ways that I could have imagined that day. I will miss his laugh and his incredible talents, and most of all I will miss his friendship. I don't think any of us ever really accept what has happened, but I am doing my best to honor him in my life.

Dearest Ingrid--Do remember "we," who grew up beside you, in laughter and tears, sisters in Babylon, our harps always remembering Zion. May the circle be unbroken, as we too, remember you, in all weather, day or night, "just a sister away"...

Dr and Mrs Antione,
I am so very sorry to hear about your precious son's passing.
I used to work with Dr Atoine at NYU and remember what a kind and loving soul your son was. How they were so happy to make morning rounds together, dressed alike in their chararcteristic bow tie.
May God bless his soul and rest in peace. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Both my husband Danny and I left the memorial yesterday feeling bereft and speechless, having felt so totally moved. Clarel certainly was larger than life, a true inspiration for all of us to live life to its fullest and to be present not only in life’s every day moments but those in between. He will live on forever in the heart and souls of all those whom he came into contact with.

Drs. Antoine & Family -

I attended the Memorial Service for Clarel II yesterday and it was absolutely unbelievable. To see so many people in attendance was a huge statement regarding the life of your son. He was a remarkable young man.

As I am a patient of yours Clarel at NYU, I only knew him through you. You were very proud of him & I can see why. I am so sorry for your loss. As a parent myself, I can only imagine the sorrow that your heart must feel. He was truly a gifted person and a reminder of how precious life is. May God Bless your family.
