My deepest condolences to the Lytle family. Dr. Lytle was a great professor but, more importantly, a great human being. He was kind and humane. I was his teaching assistant from 1977-1980 and learned much from him about what it takes to be a good teacher and professor. Whatever abilities I may have as a teacher, I'm sure I owe a great deal of it to Dr. Lytle.

Can't believe I found this. What a small world we live in. Bob and I remember our English Terrace days in the 60's when he was still in school, What a loss. But seems he had a wonderful life and family. All our love Nancy and Bob Muhlbach

Cliff was a great teacher, administrator and person. He gave to me excellent advice and opportunities. He was a great colleague from another department and was the epitome of faculty collegiality. My sympathy goes to the family.

Cliff Lytle is the reason why I became a political science professor. His class on constitutional law was so inspiring and so well-taught that I decided I wanted to follow in his footsteps; I wanted to be just like Cliff Lytle--a very difficult standard to attain. Thank you, Professor Lytle, for your inspiration and guidance.

Cliff was much respected and admired, and liked, by all of the faculty. Now, that's a slice of a good life well lived.

My heart is broken that Mr. Clifford is no longer here with us. I remember the day our family met both Mr. Clifford and Ms. Bizzy. We could not have asked for better neighbors. You guys have been so sweet to us and especially our children. There are no words to describe your generosity and how you guys became like family to us. Clifford will be greatly missed by all of us and I am sure everyone he ever met. He was such a sincere, kind and sweet man. We are here for you Bizzy and want you to know that we will help out in any way you need. Much love, the Mercea Family

As a new student in 1971,I had the honor of having both Prof. Lytle and Professor Joyner in a class that was jointly taught by them Later in 1072 to 75 I worked at the Institute of Government Research as a Clerk Typist and assisting in the reading room Dr Lytle was a kind and generous man and never too busy to greet you. Later when I worked for the Library system we met again and had wonderful talks as I helped him at the checkout desk or at the Information areas. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He touched many lives

Biz, two things come to mind when I think of Cliff. One is how fondly he spoke of you and also to you. It's a rare thing to witness, and so very memorable.
The other is the love our dog Sophie had for Cliff. She pulled her leash fervently whenever she saw him and enjoyed the walks she had with Cliff and Frank, and loved you too when you dogsat her for us.
I know how much you miss the precious time you had together, but I also know how thankful you are.

Biz, I met Cliff in 1966 on the second day I was at UofA. He warmly welcomed me to the faculty
When Cliff was made Director of the UofA Honors college, he gave me the opportunity to become one of the Faculty Fellows. I said yes, and the years I served were some of finest years and best times that I had directing plays for Honors students.
Because we were neighbors and knew each other after we retired, we saw each other more often and took many walks together. We solved the problems of the world, and had the best chats ever. But overall, it was the connection we had that mattered. It still matters.
