Clyde Johns Obituary

Clyde William Johns, 59, passed away at his home Sunday, Aug. 28,2016. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at Southcliff Baptist Church, 4100 SW Loop 820, Fort Worth, 76109, with visitation 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Clyde liked spending time with family, like sharing a hobby of model rockets and airplanes with his brother, or having a standing appointment for a family dinner every Sunday. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. He always remembered and missed the family who preceded him in death and he was a good father who spent time with his son and made sure he was well-prepared to take care of himself in the world. He enjoyed teaching himself computer programming. Clyde loved animals, particularly cats, and had a quirky sense of humor, and he loved to make people laugh (or groan) with a joke or a pun. He'd often surprise you with a memory or a story that would make you laugh. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Alan Ross Johns and Samuel Earl Johns III. Survivors: Son, Clyde Jr.; sister, Jo Starnes; and five nieces and nephews.

I remember decades ago visits to Clyde's parents Molly and Earl. The spread food on the table was always a sumptuous feast. That branch of the Johns family was fun loving and very close. Gathering on the patio near the pool with jokes, teasing, and yes, lots of cats - Jesus has a feast for them now. Our hearts are heavy for the loss of another brother, so young. May the Lord Himself comfort those left behind. May Clyde rest in peace.

Clyde was one of the nicest and funniest co-workers. He always said "oh no" when he saw me coming to ask him a question. He was a true gentleman, and such a sweet soul. I remember him hiding work orders from me, when I would find them his remark was "so where was that at"? Very nice and caring person. God bless all the lives he touched. He will be missed.

Hi. I wanted to express my condolences. I am a good friend of Clyde. I am glad to have worked with him for the past 10 yrs. I always saw him in a good mood. Even if I wasn't. I would tell him "I was tired." And he would respond with " it's better to be tired than retired or is it the other way around." . He always made my day . I will miss him. I know he is in a better place.Sincerely,Robert Rodriguez
